Augmented Reality is a technology that complements the perception and interaction with the real world and enables users to stay in a real environment augmented with additional information generated by the computer.

This technology is penetrating in new application areas such as reconstruction of historical heritage, training of operators of industrial processes, marketing, interior design world and museum guides.

The academic world is not immune to these initiatives and has also starting to introduce the technology of augmented reality in some of their disciplines. However, the knowledge and applicability of this technology in teaching is minimal, among other reasons due to the nature and stage of development of such technology, as well as their limited presence in everyday realms of society. The development of initiatives in the use of this technology in education and its dissemination will contribute to its expansion in the teaching community.

Master-D is interested in presenting under the LLL programmes a project proposal with Augmented Reality as main concept. Applications for a specific field will be developed in order to introduce this brand new technology in its teaching methodology.

mLearn is one of the first conference on Mobile Learning. It is well recognized as one of the most prestigious international conferences in the field. The 2009 and conference will take place in Orlando, Florida (USA) from the 26th until the 30th of October.

The IAMLearn network supports this event and Master-D as active member of the network will attend the meeting.
