This international two-day IEEE VS-Games ‘09 conference was held at Coventry University Technology Park, and marked the first IEEE academic conference in serious games and virtual worlds. IEEE VS-Games ‘09 brought together international researchers from a range of disciplines to formulate a new cross-disciplinary community in the emerging field of serious games and virtual worlds.

Keynoted speakers included: Professors Steve Benford (UK), Alan Chalmers (UK) and Adrian Cheok (Japan). The conference will be chaired by Professor Sara de Freitas (UK), Professor Edward Castronova (US) and Dr Kurt Squire (US).
