Monitoring e-Skills Demand and Supply
by Angel Plaza under Home

In the most recent Issue Paper on “Recognizing Value Credentials” of 27 February 2009 the IT industry working group 6 on “Skills and Lifelong Learning” has clearly stated that Europe is facing an “e-Skills gap“.
The European Commission is leading and exhaustive study about this “Gap” called E-Skills monitoring study. The main objective of this study is to monitor and better understand the evolution of the supply and demand of e-skills in Europe in order to anticipate change and facilitate dialogue between policy markers at the regional, national and EU level and leading stakeholders to reduce e-skills shortages, gaps and mismatches.
Two major reports will be delivered: A synthesis report presenting an overview and an analysis of the situation in 2009: “The evolution of the supply and demand of e-skills in Europe”; and a foresight report covering the period 2010-2015: “Anticipating the evolution of the supply and demand of e-skills in Europe (2010-2015)”.
